HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
The hair itself lasts up to a year, depending on how well it’s taken care of.
Installation lasts 6 to 8 weeks depending on the person / hair growth. After that point, you’ll need a maintenance appointment to move them up.
UMMM… EXPLAIN “MOVING UP” AND “RE-INSTALLATION” PLEASE!
Move ups consist of just literally moving beads / rows back up to your root!
A full reinstall is completely removing the extensions and starting fresh with color and new thread.
WHAT ARE THE COLOR OPTIONS FOR HAND TIED EXTENSIONS?
Hair color options are endless! Some are customized depending on the client.
Mine actually blended perfectly with my hair color.
DOES YOUR HAIR NEED TO BE A CERTAIN LENGTH OR STYLE TO GET EXTENSIONS?
it’s easier to blend with hair at least shoulder length, especially if they’re wanting to go really long. But with that being said, you can honestly do them at any length! It just depends on how much you’re wanted to add.
Wefts – Attention to detail ensures that hair is more strongly secured and does not shed, making the hair extensions last longer. They are also thinner, flatter, and more flexible than machine-tied wefts, allowing the hair extensions to lay closer to the scalp and provide a more natural look and feel.
I-Tips – Also known as Pro Tips, are Individual extensions which resemble the tip of a shoe lace. Each tip of hair is usually secured with micro rings or cylinders to strands of hair. This allows stylists to more precisely add length to specific areas. Hair extensions are looped through cylinders with one’s natural hair and then clamped down using pliers. Some cylinders have threads on the interior to prevent slippage. As micro links can slip down the hair as well as be moved up, they can be a cost-effective option. These can last from six to twelve weeks.
Tape-ins – A Tape-in or Adhesive Skin Weft hair extension is a hairpiece made from human hair, and can be attached to the wearer’s scalp by a specialized tape system. Small Strips of tape are used to sandwich a person’s real hair and the extensions. The wefts can be applied to areas that may need extra volume, length, or highlights. The professional-grade adhesive provides for a quick and easy installation process.
Clip-ins – Clip-ins are temporary extensions usually applied for one or two days. Extensions can be used multiple times. Great for wedding up-dos, Formal styles or special events. Clip-in extensions are an excellent and extremely popular way to extend your look. Clip-ins are short-term solutions that can be applied or removed in minutes without the help of a stylist because extensions have tiny combs that attach to the root of the hair.
Halos – Halo-couture halos features an instant and secure application process that can be applied by anyone in minutes! Our Halo extensions are made with 100% Remi® human hair. Simply wear the invisible wire over your crown and securely attach the clip-ins at the nape for longer, fuller hair. Be sure to pull out pieces of your natural hair to rest over the entire halo.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS:
GENERAL CARE:
A light braid, wrap or low ponytail is recommended for sleeping, swimming, athletics or any activities alike. Low heat (180 degrees Fahrenheit), loose curls, light braids, and utilizing the natural wave pattern are the preferred methods of styling. Regularly brush through your hair and the extensions using a natural boar brush. Any styles that would cause the tape tab to be over directed or pulled away from the natural growth pattern should be avoided to ensure a damage-free extension life. With proper care and maintenance, your client will enjoy 4-8 weeks of damage-free wearable extensions.
Hair Extensions should be shampooed using the pads of your fingers in an interlocking motion between the extensions. Apply additional shampoo as needed throughout the mid-shafts and ends, squeezing the extensions, not rubbing together. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Conditioner can be applied to the mid-shaft and ends. Do not apply conditioner to the roots to avoid slippage. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Repeat as needed
Part the hair horizontally and gently release the hair with a de-tangling boar brush. Apply additional product for the desired result avoiding the extension tape tab. Blow dry the hair with your fingers until the hair is approximately 75% dry. Section your hair and style using a wide tooth wooden paddle or round board brush. Excessive use of tension is not necessary and not recommended. If hot tools are used, the recommended temperature setting is at or under 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Always use a heat protecting product to ensure the longevity of the extension.
Extensions come in a wide variety to seamlessly match any desired color. We do not recommend coloring the extensions in manner including depositing shampoos, as they contain chemicals that can damage the extension. However, should you choose to do so, please perform a test using demi or Semi color only with no peroxide.
